La forma negativa se construye así:
Sujeto + verbo to be + not + verbo + -ing
Ejemplos:
- I’m not watching TV.
- You aren’t cooking. / You’re not cooking.
- She isn’t working today. / She’s not working today.
- He isn’t climbing today. / He’s not climbing today.
- They aren’t studying now. / They’re not studying now.
En resumen esta construcción puede quedar de 3 formas, considerando las contracciones:
- You are not cooking
- You aren´t cooking
- You’re not cooking
En el caso de las preguntas la manera en que escribimos la estructura queda de la siguiente forma:
Sujeto + verbo to be + verbo + -ing
Verbo to be Sujeto Verbo + -ing Ejemplo
Am I working Am I working now?
Are you studying Are you studying French?
Is he / she / it reading Is she reading today?
Are we cooking Are we cooking dinner?
Are they playing Are they playing football?
Y la manera de responder esto, puede ser una respuesta corta.
Ejemplos:
- Am I working now? Yes, I am / No, I´m not
